Here are the official antirules for the 2011 Nascar Antipicks Contest.
The Nascar Antipicks Contest is back again for 2011. It should be another fun year of checkers and wreckers. With Nascar changing the scoring system, I have also completely revamped the antipicks scoring system. All the details are below.
The contest is completely FREE to play.
The underlying goal of anti-picks is to get some airtime and mention of the names that aren't in the headlines every day, To get us more familiar with the names that aren't running up front every week. To at least get some recognition for the underdogs. As Dale Earnhardt once said "It doesn't matter if they are cheering or booing, just as long as they are making noise."
The object of Anti-picks is to pick the bottom 5 finishers in each points
race of the Nascar Sprint Cup season. Anti-scores will be kept and tallied by me
and I'll post the results each week (hopefully).
At the end of the season we will crown an Antipicks Champion.
1. Send your Anti-picks to me at my email address. Please put " Anti" somewhere in the subject. You can use names or numbers (***numbers are easier when I'm entering them***) Unless you specify, I will assume your top pick as your last place pick working upwards.
brimitch@myfairpoint.net
As usual, I'll allow you to send in a sixth pick as a provisional in case one of your picks didn't qualify......Heck....I'll even allow a seventh or eighth if you want. Just mark your provisional picks as such.
Also you can send me a set of picks to use as Default Antipicks in case you forget to send in picks any week (Please put Default in the Subject) or if you just want to use the same ones all the time. You can play all season
just by sending one set of picks if you mark them as Default in the subject. Make sure you put in plenty of provisionals when sending default picks. If I see your default picks getting out of date, such as teams changing or drivers losing rides etc., I'll try to send a note to update your defaults.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SENDING IN A SET OF DEFAULT PICKS. They have saved many players from falling behind in the points when life gets in the way of making picks.
2 I will award antipoints based on the car's finishing position. 1 point for first and 43 points for last place. Nascar bonuses for leading laps or finishing first will be ignored.
3. A pick that does not start the race will receive no antipoints.
4. Bonus Antipoints:
3 Antipoints for any 1 car finishing in the bottom five.
6 Antipoints for having 2 cars finish in the bottom five.
12 Antipoints for having 3 cars finish in the bottom five.
24 Antipoints for having 4 cars finish in the bottom five.
48 Antipoints for having all 5 cars finish in the bottom five.
10 Antipoints for correctly picking the last place finisher.
5. Each week I will post and email the weekly results and Cumulative Anti-point
totals for everyone. They will be available online here:

6. In addition to classic Antipicks, we will also have the "Dash to the Crash" contest, so we can crown two losers this season. It will run similar to the Chase where after 26 races I will take the top 10 in antipoints and tighten them up for a ten race Dash. No extra picks need to be made. This will run separately and not affect the regular antipicks points.
7. I wish you all bad luck and hope to see you in the garage.
